I'm a contrarian when it comes to sports handicapping. I look for the games where the public is convinced they are right about a point spread and I go the other way. Every week of the football season, there are a handful of games where the point spread just seems wrong. The line smells. What typically happens with the point spreads that smell is that every dope who thinks they've got it all figured out says, wow, Vegas screwed up. Here's what I've learned after years of taking lumps thinking that I had it all figured out. Vegas doesn't screw up!
My goal each week is to find games where the public is convinced they have it figured out, and then, I go the other way. Does it work? It works more than doing it your way . Does it win every time...no, nothing works all the time. However, this is one way to avoid getting crushed. Have fun and as always, this is for entertainment purposes only.
